Some lagoons are in pretty good condition and need just a maintenance dose of Activated EM•1®. Others may need a more aggressive treatment plan. These application rates can be used for manure pits, as often found in hog barns, as well.

If the lagoon has a crust and/or a large volume of sludge, continue application until some level of clarity is seen. It would be wise to measure sludge levels to set a point of comfort level as to when to decrease application rates to a maintenance dose.
