RICE

This rice trial in Beaumont, TX also tested a reduced Nitrogen and Fungicide program using EM-1®.

The trial consisted of six treatments and two nitrogen fertilizer rates (100% and 75%) and/or with fungicide or without.

Barriers were installed to prevent sub-surface and paddy water movement between plots. Flood irrigation was used.

Treated fields received 30 gallons per acre of Ag1000® (Activated EM-1®) spread out over the growing season.

Both the reduced Nitrogen and the reduced Fungicide did significantly better then the untreated control. Applying Ag1000® to the rice resulted in a 4.5% increase in pounds per acre with 25% less Nitrogen used.

On the fungicide trial, Ag1000® increased the yields by almost 9% without the use of fungicide. There was no significant difference between the two treated fields, indication the use of fungicide was not needed.

For all grains, we recommend 15 gallons of Ag1000® per acre per year spread over 3 applications.

5 Gallons/Acre at Planting in the Furrow

5 Gallons/Acre at Emergence of grain

5 Gallons/Acre Postharvest

Conventional farmers can use Ag1000® with most of their programs. Do not mix synthetic chemicals with the microbes in concentrated, non-diluted, form. Many pesticides, such as Round-Up are antibiotic in nature and kill all the microbes within seconds of mixing. Therefore, if pesticides are to be used, please wait at least 48 hours between applications of pesticide and Ag1000®.
