EARTH TOILET PROJECT - JAPAN
"Earth Toilet Project" is an eco-conscious activity to attain an odorless portable toilet by degrading excrement with the power of microbes. In 2018, The Solar Budokan was held in Nakatsugawa and Earth Toilet was present, helping the participants be more comfortable with portable toilet usage. Not only was the bad smell decreased, the toilets remained cleaner.
APPLICATION METHODS
SEPTIC TANK:
For every 1,500 gallons of holding capacity, pour 1.5 gallons of EM-1® Septic Treatment every month down a common drain such as the sink, toilet, and bath tub.
PORTABLE TOILETS (RVS, PORTA-POTTIES, BUSES)
Add 5 to 6 ounces of EM-1® Septic Treatment per toilet or 1/4 oz per gallon of holding capacity.
RESTAURANTS (SEPTIC AND GREASE TRAPS)
Apply 1 gallon of EM-1® Septic Treatment for every 1,000 gallons of holding capacity.
For Grease Traps, apply 1/4 cup directly in grease trap and inject daily.
FOR SMELLY OR STUBBORN DRAINS
Pour 1/4 cup EM-1® Septic down each drain two to three times per week until odor is gone, continue once per week after.
For stubborn drains, pack drain with baking soda and vinegar until the drain clears. Follow-up with 1/4 cup EM-1® Septic one to two times a week.
