This bokashi is an excellent addition to my compost pile on a regular basis. I have been impressed with the change in odor and time to breakdown. My strategy is very simple and the addition of bokashi requires little effort. Thanks for this fantastic product
Bokashi is a great way to make compost. If you have ever wondered how to compost meat scraps, bones, or other animal waste without attracting flies, scavengers, or otherwise being gross, this is it.
Customer service and timely response was excellent when we complained about our purchase. We were given a replacement for the product that was not acceptable. The replacement product unfortunately has the same poor quality as the initial one. The bokashi smells. terrible and it is clumped together so tightly that I am unable to get what I need.
We have purchased this product approximately two times per yr for several years and we were very happy. We appreciate the high quality reusable buckets that package our bokashi. We won't be attempting a repeat purchase but we do appreciate the sincere attempt to rectify our dissatisfaction.
Though not cost effective to send entire bucket, we could send a sample for culture if you are interested?
We are a small garden family and we have been ordering BOKASHI several years. Our most recent purchase is so bad that we are unable to consider using it! We enjoy organic smells in general and we are accustomed to the pleasant odor of healthy fermentation. That being said, the rotten smell of our most recent Bokashi delivery is unacceptable. It reeks of unpleasant rank stench!
The consistency of this product is similar to concrete which must be broken apart with a chisel prior to use. There is fuzzy mold in areas where the chisel has penetrated the surface.
We are so very disappointed and also angry that a source and product we have come to love is now garbage. We hope that an acceptable offer will help somewhat redeem the Terranix reputation and +100.00 dollar purchase. ...?
I gave my stepmother-in-law the Bokashi composter two years ago. She loves it and loves the compound used to expedite the composting. Ordering is easy and deliveries are quick.

Well… I originally ordered through amazon and the material was very damp. Within a few weeks, more than two it started to develop mycelia. I contacted the company, feel like I talked to the owner and he sent me another bag free. That bag was less damp but still shortly after having it, it also started developing fungus. The issue is that it generates its own moisture and heat in the bag. I have only had one other brand of bokashi and it was basically dry, it had very little order at that point (not that the smell is bad) but it never developed thick clumps making it nearly impossible to sprinkle in the food scraps… this is the issue. If the mycelium didn’t Lock everything together in your mix it would be an issue… but that’s happening again. It happening both is a stainless steel container with a lid I keep of the counter next to a stainless steel bowl with a plate on it as well as in the original container it was shipped in which I keep in a cool garage area. I left the bag loosely open to see if that would slow the mycelium grown but doesn’t seem to have made much difference unfortunately. If the material will still work when it’s bone dry then I thick t needs to be drier… I realize that add time and cost but I don’t feel like this glumly stuff which is now kinda green and white is doing what it’s supposed to be doing which is pickling the food scraps. That’s my opinion since you asked.

We have been using Bokashi Bran for a few months now and love it. We started using a couple bokashi bucket i made for our scraps and now the grandkids save all their leftovers for the buckets and the the garden. Thank you for showing us and the next generation. We would highly recommend.

This has been a great product. I now have the grandchildren collecting all of their food waste daily to add to the Bokashi bucket. They are learning that putting the scraps in the bokashi bucket will go back into the the garden to help the veggies we will enjoy later. Thank You TeraGanix for helping the next generation. I wonder if you could do this on a larger scale, like at a school or church?
I have 7 four week old chicks in my living room! When it gets a little pungent, I add a bit of bokashi bran to the litter and the smell is gone by the next day. I’m using a deep litter method and bokashi bran is what makes it work. Next week, into the coop!
Mixing soil for potting mix: Use at 2% total soil volume.
Existing plants: Top dress 1/3 Cup per square foot every two to three weeks.
Mulch: Apply Bokashi on mulch or plant residue at the rate of 1 lbs per 100 square feet.
FOOD WASTE FERMENTATION DIRECTIONS
Use our Bokashi Organko Compost Buckets or our food waste recycling buckets.
Sprinkle a layer of Bokashi into the compost bin and then over every layer of fresh food wastes to speed up the fermentation process.
Unlike traditional composting, Bokashi composting requires only about 10 days to convert organic materials into useable material, and the nutrient value of the material is among the highest of any composting method.
