EM•1® Case Study: Greenhouses

EM•1® is a ready-to-use soil conditioner, comprised of Effective Microorganisms. EM•1® can be applied through the irrigation system, cooling pad system and as a greenhouse glazing rinse to keep operations running smoothly.

EM•1® contains live microbials that are native to environmental ecosystems such as soil, water, and plants. These microbes are naturally antibiotic and antifungal by producing compounds such as enzymes and proteins. In addition, they produce plant growth regulators that increase plant growth and strength.

FOR IRRIGATION:

Run Ag1000® continuously in the water system at a 1:2000 ratio. If using a 1:128 dosing unit this will equal 1 quart Ag1000® per 5 gallons of water. If irrigation lines have not been cleaned in awhile or ever, be sure to flush the system as the microbes will breakdown any build up causing lines to plug.

FOLIAR SPRAY:

Apply Ag1000® once a week at a rate of 0.5 to 1 oz per Gallon of water. Use drip system, hose-end, or backpack sprayer.

HYDRATING PLANTING MEDIA (Soil or soilless):

Add 4 oz of Ag1000® per 100 pounds of media mix.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE:

Spray the greenhouse glazing with Ag1000® at a rate of 1 oz per gallon of water (1:128) weekly or bi-weekly to clean glazing and maximize light transfer. Use the same 1oz/gallon dilution rate to spray off flooring, walls, and shelves for safe, chemical-free cleaning.

WATER RECIRCULATION SYSTEM:

Inoculate with Ag1000® at a 1:500 rate. You may need to flush the system if buildup occurs as microbes will begin to loosen any build up in the system.

COMPOSTING:

Add 1 gallon of Ag1000® per cubic yard of plant material.
