EM•1® can be used on vineyards in all climates. EM•1® is a ready-to-use soil conditioner, comprised of
Effective Microorganisms. EM•1® increases nutrient cycling in your soil and helps improve drainage, aeration, moisture retention and soil structure. Overall this decreases fertilizer requirements while improving yield.

Because EM•1® contains live microbials it also improves water permeability. The bugs go to work in the soil, increasing beneficial microorganisms and other organisms, this creates more pores for water and air. The increased permeability can decrease your water usage.

For most vineyards, we recommend up to 26 gallons of EM•1® per acre per year applied through irrigation (flood, drip or sprinklers) and/or as a foliar.

1 to 3 Gallons per acre in the soil starting at bud break (5-7 applications)
1 to 3 Gallons per acre as a foliar
5 Gallons per acre post harvest

Foliar applications should be applied in the morning or evening. Conventional farmers can use EM•1® with most of their programs. Do not mix synthetic chemicals with the microbes in concentrated, non-diluted, form. Many pesticides, such as Round-Up are antibiotic in nature and kill all the microbes within seconds of mixing. Therefore, if pesticides are to be used, please wait at least 48 hours between applications of pesticide and EM•1®.
